Longing

Longing

A Poem by MCS
"

"Summer means happy times and good sunshine." ~ Brian Wilson

"

Summer’s soft whispers

Fill my garden

Under warm rays of light

Splashes of colour

Grace my eyes

Lifting the spirit

Remembering summer

During the grey of winter

Fills the mind with longing

This poem conveys a deep appreciation for the vibrancy of summer, suggesting that memories of warmth and color can provide solace during darker, colder times.

Very beautifully penned...
Thanks for sharing. -Amy

and as Junior Walker and the All-stars sang, "gotta hold on to this feeling"----
it gets us through the cold.

thank you for the visit and sharing.
Such true words are beautifully embroidered in this wonderfully inked poem. When we have Summer sunshine, warm weather, bees buzzing and gorgeous butterflies flitting from flower to flower or perched on a green fertile hedge, our spirit within is uplifted. We feel light within ourselves, happy and relaxed as we enjoy our array of garden flowers and tend them with loving care.
In Winter, our sky is dull and low, we are enveloped in a blanket of cold, grey seems to be the chosen colour of the season and so our minds turn to Summer with great longing for its return. It makes the Winter months more bearable knowing that Summer is on the way to greet us again.
A very artistically constructed poem in both word, imagery and superb painting to complement the beautiful words of the poem.
I love the layout of the poem and the style of writing used. Wondrous work! I so enjoyed reading.
Thank you for sharing, Mary...
