Trees

Trees have taught me

To connect to my soul

Much more than a priest

I have found peace

In the company of trees

I’ve learned to ground myself

I’ve learned to listen

Not only what is said

But mostly to what isn’t said aloud

I’ve learned to stand tall

And just be

I sometimes talk to trees. They never answer me more than a whisper but I have been scolded a time or two by indignant squirrels. I enjoyed the read. F.

You strike me as a student of Blake, while is no bad thing.

A very meaningful and nice poem. Nature surely knows how to make our souls feel more peace and comfort than humans... It's a natural reset I always lean towards when stressed. Definitely a poem I can relate to...
Great imagery and language choice. In your poem trees are depicted as teachers, suggesting they possess knowledge and wisdom.
Thanks for sharing.
