Burning

Burning

A Poem by MCS
"

If you do not wish to be prone to anger, do not feed the habit; give it nothing which may tend to its increase. ~ Epictetus

"

You left a raging fire behind

That consumed all

Only ashes remain

For a while all was red

Followed by black

With the passage of time

Not knowing how to recover

Escaped into myself

Looking for answers

You are now dead

You are now ashes

No further answer to come

Doing what I know best

I took the reds and the black

And spread them across a canvas

A very emotive, poignant write from your poetic pen, Mary. A day comes when we can find no more answers to our questions. We accept that and have to move on with our lives and you used your energy so wisely to paint this superb painting of the red and black. It is truly spectacular! The blend of colours is magical. The ashes are left behind, and it is best for us to leave the fire die down in our mind and our heart and live each new day as best we can. Life is too short not to forgive ourselves and the other person involved, dear Mary. Thank you for sharing this succinct but very powerful and sensitive poem...

Visually beautiful and brimful of emotion. A relationship deceased. The
flames burned high and in anger before they turned to ash. Nicely composed and the posted image works well with your chosen words MCS. Well done.
