Remembrance

A Poem by MCS
"

Where were you when the world stopped turning, on that September day?

"

On this day in September

Regardless of the weather

One’s soul feels chilled

What separates us from the animals, what separates us from the chaos, is our ability to mourn people we’ve never met.

~ David Levithan

the sky was so blue that day....I was watching WGN as the second plane hit...could not believe my eyes.

went to class the next day but was unable to teach...couldn't talk without breaking down.

I have chills, and its 90 degrees here at 11:30 in the morning. The images of that day and the years that have followed have been a mortal wound for this country and all Americans. Your words are emotive and make an indelible impression upon my heart. (That's a beautiful quote too, by David Levithan.)

So wonderful to see you again, Mary. I hope you are well. Please keep in touch. I have missed you!

That day is imprinted on my mind for ever. We looked on in horror from the other side of the pond in disbelief. You summed this up well, it chills the soul just thinking about it. The loss of life and the heroics of the emergency services will never be forgotten. Nor the site of the twin towers falling. Can't believe twenty years have gone by.

We can all remember the weird distorted hours that dragged on incredulously that day, even if not touched personally like so many were. You've captured it concisely! (((HUGS)))
