Hopelessness

Hopelessness

A Poem by MCS
"

When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on. ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt

"

Hope a casualty of the pandemic

No true savior among us

Remedies few and far between

Variants are numerous

Fatalities a scar we all carry

So difficult to avoid despair

Bleakness casts a pallor

Sunshine mocks

Little hope to grasp

Vaccines a shot in the dark

As we dare to hope

For a better tomorrow

I myself am untouched by the pandemic, but I do see how hope has taken a big hit. "Dare to hope" is well-crafted (((HUGS)))

I always say that sense of community in such times is important, people are becoming more and more isolated on their own in the nows and not focusing on the tomorrows - hope is always there - a fragile thing but always there MCS :) Stay well...

We do need hope and light at the end of the tunnel. WE all have went through all the ups and downs of Covid, economic impact, sad events and such. May we come out more resilient and more united...
A powerful poem with a great message.

It's hard to believe how far we've come since this pandemic started. I remember the fear, the not knowing anything, and wanting to do all I could to protect myself and my family. Wearing a mask is the new normal, and there's no telling how much longer it will remain so. Your poem speaks of it all so distinctly - the fear, the despair, the death and the hope. You are an extraordinary writer and it's a pleasure to read you!

Well we hope the vaccines will work in the long run....in the short run, it took so long and so much damage has been done already....will we ever feel normal again?
I doubt it...but still hope.
