Downward Spiral

work is a four letter word.

The overwhelming need to disconnect

the stifling mind draining repetitive tasks

wishing to draw forth the dark curtain of sleep

 

To bring this day to its end

the devastating knowledge

that one can’t escape

 

Bone crushing boredom

followed by panic that come morning

the episode will be replayed

Even tho I loved my 30-yr career as a technical writer & felt blessed by the abundance, I often felt exactly like this, putting words together in mind-numbing uniformity, over & over! Every time I tried to branch out & be a little playful, the corporate thumb squashed me back into conformity. we need to get to work outside of the home, to play outside of the home...to see other people...

otherwise, one day just blends into the next....and yes, hard to sleep when we know what is or rather isn't coming the next day.
I am experiencing "the bone crushing boredom"
