A Poem by MCS
"

An essential aspect of creativity is not being afraid to fail. ~ Edwin Land

"

Within a swirl of images

Stirring mind’s gray matter

Creativity engaged

This peeling away of cobwebs

Can it be called art

Or is it a cerebral cocktail

Originality a murky question

Society determines what is art

But what is this need to create

In third line of second stanza, should there be an "it" after "is"?

Okay, Society determines what is art...perhaps...but I do think art is within us...
and I am not so sure that society gets to deem what is or isn't.
I think graffiti on the subway is a form of art. I think poetry can be as short as one word or as long as 20 pages.
Creativity comes in so many forms of expression....and that expression is art.
This poem is a representation of that art.

I love the message you're getting across with your excellent quotes . . . fear is such a creativity crimp! Your poem brings to mind how it can be better to focus on the simple satisfaction of creating, rather than judging one's creations as being good or bad . . . or worrying whether it'll be accepted by others or not. I'm lucky not to have that anti-noise in my head (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
