Distorted

Distorted

A Poem by MCS
"

Sometimes problems don’t require a solution to solve them; instead thy require maturity to outgrow them.

"

News of your illness

has pushed me through

a narrow pass

of old memories

it’s been a violent lurch

into a landscape

best forgotten

moment upon moment

of wrenching sadness

each snapshot

obliterating the other

unable to say anything

in my defense

because in your

twisted world

I am dead

Wow! I don't know what I find more chilling - your words or the accompanying photo. You have a way with staccato lines, and fitting a powerhouse of emotion in between them. Much applause, my friend!

Thank you my dear friend.
I would be afraid to guess about the history that lies behind this one. It is a nicely written, spare piece that gives the impression of a relationship badly ruptured in the past, the memory of which has been triggered by the news of one of principals' illness, which I would suspect is a serious one. The speaker is obviously in considerable pain, a large part of which is probably composed of regrets. Some wounds don't completely heal.

John, thank you for reading. You are so right some wounds never really heal.
