"

Accept what is, let go of what was, have faith in what will be. ~ Sonia Ricotti

"

It’s hard not to let one’s trust and faith waiver

In oneself or in one’s family or neighbor

We are always multilayered and deep

The paths that we travel are at times

Smooth followed by rough and steep

Forcing one to question are deepest beliefs

Its so difficult to trust in the devein plan

In these moments of doubt

Trusting an extended hand or kind word is difficult

It’s a challenge to see purpose or direction

Things are always changing quicker than the seasons

So often what one can do is stop, be mindful and trust

Your poem describes the uncertainty & inner strife I felt much of my life when I worried & wondered how I was coming across, if people liked me, if I was doing the right thing (on & on & on). Then there comes a moment in every life when the mental gyrations slow down enuf so we can see how little all the things we worried about ever mattered. My new mantra (taken from reading about Buddhism): I'm OK with what happens. It's amazing how this helps me see that what happens is not the problem, it's my reaction to things that happen. Your poem shows how this goes, in a lyrical artful way (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
