Inklings

A Poem by MCS
"

There can be no deep disappointment where there is not deep love. ~ Martin Luther King Jr.

"

In the deep chambers of my heart

lies a sadness

with no remedy in sight

There is a silent

ranting and raving going on

that threatens my soul

In solitude I feel betrayed

by a church that once nourished

but has become a cancer to one’s faith

mixed media on paper

Your first two powerfully-stated verses remind me of how I feel when a bad mood is descending (I'm bipolar). It's inevitable & ya just gotta sit tight & get thru it without striking out at others in meaningless rants. The last verse seems indicate the "break" when we stop sitting quietly with the torment & we blame God (who/whatever "should" be able to deliver better results in life). But your title reminds me that there's always an inkling of light breaking thru & it will eventually twinkle again (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Hauntingly truthful, really deep and meaningful poem. About losing our way and not finding our inner peace or balance that we once had and losing perspective in our being and self. Nicely expressed and beautifully done.
