I love dogs, but living in an apartment, I have three cats instead. For as long as I can remember, I've always had a dog or cat as a pet. Wouldn't wish to live in a house without one... or the other!

I know what you mean. A house without a pet is not a home!
Never heard of Chugs, but I like the Chug Mug already! Your “Soul Mutt” is adorable and so is your poem Mary. Yay for all of their unconditional, “slobbery kisses”! How lucky we are to have them. Great write!

Hello my friend, indeed we are lucky! Thank you for reading and your little pooch is too cute.
Interesting piece with a few well chosen words describing the doggy behaviour you see as meaningful. So many dog lovers showing love to animals is a warm human thing, I do sometimes wish some could show the same love to their 'neighbours' though. And scoop up that poop.........................P.L.E.A.S.E!

Thanks for reading and sharing. We ALWAYS poop and scoop.
I've always wanted a dog but I'm outnumbered in my household by cat lovers. Thank you for sharing your dog with me. I looked after my grandson's blue staffie for six months. I adored her and she rewarded me with so much unconditional love. I will never forget her. Your little poem brought her back.

I’m sorry you’re out numbered. I also love cats but I’m so allergic to them:(

Well you can always foster a dog; rescue organizations are always in need of foster homes.
Thank you for coming by.
