glad to meet you MCS! wonderful painting and confessions of a Painter! i like the form you chose .. the descending flow of it makes me think of the sweep of the painters brush ...i think the arts are all so closely connected .. but between poetry and art is so very strong .. as we try to paint with words ... your poem is so relateable ... our lives constantly going from one mess to another .. with a creative outlet at least we can keep on keeping on ... i love the honesty in your closing line .. its a confession one would not expect from the painter .. as all good arts strive for honesty .. your speaker is hiding grief ... and displaying it at the same time .. well done .. thanks for sharing

E, thank you so much for reading and sharing your thoughts.
Mary your painting is like the strata of a mind in turmoil layering together to once again become whole. The stepped lines of your profound poem climb from the depths of grief toward the light of a new beginning. Your wonderful art, more a foundation than a disguise. Yours is the voice of a warrior, a valkyrie, a phoenix. In your art, is trancendence.

You’re so welcome, and I always will be my dear friend.:))
Both your painting on wood (such a casual but oft absorbent surface) and your words show such a subtle force ... almost mesmerising. Yes, mesmerising: a scattering of words, pale vision... yet, more than more. Emotions take the saddest forms but sometimes the most appropriate..
