Beautiful tribute and important statement about yet another fallen musician's tragic death. Chris Cornell, fallen to depression and despair. I stand with you on
the critical question you raise- "When will the effort be made to address mental health?" We as a society cannot afford to continue allow government cutbacks in funds for depression and addiction treatment, to ignore the deaths. As a nurse, I see
the suffering every day- by rich and poor, mighty and obscure. There are rivers of blood on the tracks and in the streets. So true. We are sinking "like a stone"..spirits are low.. mind is asking"- but no answers. Thank you for raising awareness with your excellent poem! Peace, out.

Thank you. It's heartbreaking how little is done for this illness.
A lovely tribute and a great question set within a gem of a piece. Having been a mental health professional for all of my career I am of a mind the answer in NEVER.
Another one gone from the music world. As I understand it, he suffered from depression and drugs for most of his life. By the way he looked at his last show, the demons were stronger than the adulation and success he had achieved. Such a sad story which leads to the exact words you have written here.
Good poem. MCS.
