Under Pressure

Under Pressure

A Poem by MCS

A soul drags over the dirty sidewalks

gathering up all that isn’t needed

or wanted

fatigue

resentment

scorching resignation

the vultures are circling

enemies are gathering stones

god is building sand castles

a vacant room

silent

dark

a body looks around

for a place to rest

to crawl into itself

wishing to escape for a

moment

or longer

I don't know if it was your intention, but this poem perfectly describes the feelings of depression. Excellent word choice.

Alice, thank you. I like to explore all the layers that we accumulate as we travel through life.
"the vultures are circling
enemies are gathering stones
god is building sand castles"

Under pressure characters are built and under pressure needs gather either power or fatigue. Bravo.......
