Current

Current

A Poem by MCS

To inhabit as water inhabits

filling

unnoticed

occupying

its surroundings

the pond spreads outward

across the landscape

its surface

at times

smooth

dark

choppy

diamond pinpoints

reflecting the sun

or clusters of white clouds

in the weeks to come

ice will form bringing stillness

quiet

cold

depths

the Koi will become slower

scarcely moving

conserving their energy

awaiting spring

gaining freedom from cold and ice

water

freely

flowing

 To inhabit as water inhabits

Well written and described! Great imagery and very interesting topic
to write about, very unique! Love the format and word play, thanks for
sharing and b-blessed! (Picture doesn't hurt either)

I'm trying. It's good to back after a long time away.
I like the way you frame your work.. its interesting to read and too taking a topic that's not even commonly acknowledged is appreciable :)

Nazia thank you for those kind words.
Can't put my finger on what is so interesting about it, but I really like your writing style. This is lovely. I like how the last line is the same as the first, really embraces the ideas in the rest of the poem. I also think it's really cool that you've written about something that is often ignored/taken for granted as just what happens, and shown its beauty and importance
