Rain

Rain

A Poem by MCS

The sky is gray

air is damp

chill to the bone

rain steady

fixing to stay

October sun limited

tipping the scales

toward winter

colours shedding

their glow

Milkweed pods bursting

in weedy patches

wisps of fluff

carried in the wind

promising of snow

 streets crowded

people huddle, heads down

collars pulled tight

paved roads glisten

still it rains
