HollowA Poem by MCSStained glass lamp sets off a warm glow heavy drapes block out the outside light
Eyes struggle to adjust to the faint glow melancholy desires darkness it requires silence too
Wilting tulips in a vase their lolling cups admit defeat emitting the scent of decay
Chaise lounge by the fireplace now cold invites no rest provides little support
Its heavy fabric looks tired and worn the shams are frayed the appliqué faded
This room once was warm filled with light and freshness now is silent filled with gloom dark, quiet like a tomb © 2013 MCSAuthor's Note
