Absent

Absent

A Poem by MCS

Passage of time

is clear to me

I feel it ticking by

Mother no longer

asks me if

I have news

My sister is

a fuzzy image

she’s removed herself

We all go on

with our lives

little contact

My sister

has lost

her breasts

My brother

keeps his

silence

My mother

wrings her hands

and says poor me

My tongue

lays flat

nothing more to say

I go about my day

knowing I have

nothing to call home

It’s awful and so often the true reason is cloudy because of the emotional factors.
I hope you and your sister are able to reconcile.
Thank you for reading and sharing.

It's so upsetting when families fall out. My sister fell out with me and I have not seen her in 2 years.
