Ice

Ice

A Poem by MCS

Fingers are like icicles

furry mittens

cannot warm

them

I’ve not known warmth

ice water

circulates within

me

See past my eyes

into my

blue icy

core

I’m not a menace

to anyone

I’m avoided

always

I am called cold

given space

not included

ever

Ice queen not I

I’m just

afraid to

feel

Life broke me early

shattered me

into ice

crystals

My world became cold

controlled winter

blizzard conditions

always
