Mediterranean Blue

Mediterranean Blue

A Poem by MCS

From my vantage point

all is blue and vast

I lose myself in its depth

sky and sea in equal balance

clouds white and wispy overhead

I imagine I can snag one with the mast

across the water points sparkle

reflecting my potential

I contemplate the choice to have offspring

is it wise considering my roots

is it inevitable that I become my parents

pushing the fear and bile down

my desire to do better triumphs

promising myself I’ll do my best

laughter brings me out of my daydream

looking behind me children at play

my children, happy, serene and bright

I kept my promise to myself

my offspring were not reared on fear

my children have healed me

Very true, however there are times when one has to break with tradition and step out on a limb. Thanks for reading and sharing it’s always appreciated.

A very beautiful and descriptive poem. It is always good and honorable to cherish our roots...Bravo
