Shards

Shards

A Poem by MCS

Even when I think

I’ve forgotten you

I’m looking for you

I don’t even know

I’m doing it

I push you

out of my mind

yet I keep on

remembering you

so often my breath catches

because the feel of you

is so real

it feels like you’re right here

the air around me

feels charged

and live

with your essence

in every crowd

I feel I see you

just up ahead

slightly out of reach

just like that song

when is it enough time

to forget

or at least

to move past

'Shards'
MCS,
Bits and pieces of the otherness. Our inner being is touched in ways that we don't recognize until that person is gone away. Then the niche in our hearts feels very empty where that person once dwelled. Your poem made a lot of sense.
Blessings,
Kathy

Such a longing behind the words, for many things. Echoes of the past can be difficult to deal with. Sometimes you don't have control of where your mind wanders, and often it wanders into pain. Good write!
