Chapter 35 - Captured

Chapter 35 - Captured

A Chapter by emma

-Nate-

I stared longingly at my phone, wishing Andrea would call. But she didn’t. I was beginning to think she was a) dead or b) hiding from everyone and everything. Maybe she didn’t want to be my girlfriend, and maybe she secretly hated Skye and Chase. Maybe she hated everyone so much that she killed herself. I didn’t know, but that line of thinking scared me so badly that I had to sit down on my bed.

I was alone in my house that afternoon. My mother and father were out shopping, grabbing party favours for the little “get together” they were having on the weekend. To me, all of that talk was meaningless crap that suggested I had to take refuge in my room all night. Which is fine by me. Better than mingling.

There was a ping against my window. I sat up and stared at it, thinking it was a figment of my imagination. But then I saw it: a small rock tapping against the glass. I stood up and walked to the window. I opened it and leaned out, looking for the perpetrator. I jumped when I saw the grinning ghombie leaning against the thick base of a tree that was planted in my yard.

“Hey, Nate.” It’s voice was slick.

“How-how do you know my name?” I stammered.

The ghombie stepped closer into my view. I could see that it was male, and had a handful of tiny pebbles.

“I know everyone’s name,” he said.

“What do you want?” I asked. I tried not to let the fear rolling in my gut leak into my voice.

He shrugged. “Oh, I don’t know. Your body, I suppose. And your screams.”

Just as I was about to ask him what he was talking about, arms wrapped around my torso. I thrashed and tried to escape, but whoever it was held a strong grip. Then the cold seeped in. I felt its fingers through my clothes, and knew that it was a ghombie. I struggled harder, but it was no use. I couldn’t escape.

“Now, listen to me and follow me into the van outside, or I’ll knock you out.” I could tell this one was also male by his voice.

“I won’t go down without a fight.”

“Very well,” he muttered.

Then something hit my head, and the last thing I remember was darkness.

hehe "I want your body!" that's great.. This chapter wasn't lame! And yes, I realize that that wasn't an actual quote. More of a paraphrase.
