taylor swift should have prepared me for this

A Poem by c. bee

Have you forgotten me yet?

Was it that easy to let go of it all

It didn’t take long for you to forget the sound of my voice

I think I’m the only one still holding on

Dragging our memories from the shadows of my brain

Of us making our own little hideouts on construction sites

Which have long since developed into real buildings

The tenants have no idea

We once cuddled in blankets on their living room floor

A barebones version of something real

Maybe that’s all we were too
