oh missus moonA Poem by c. bee11-6-18
It was pathetic really, how I lost myself in you
Knowing I’d never find a way out But my name tasted so good on your lips I couldn’t help myself And now when I slip my hand between my thighs I pretend it’s the touch of your rough, calloused fingers But no amount of pillows can disguise the empty space you left on my bed And my fingers are soft and smooth The nights are sleepless Seemingly endless No matter how much I beg the moon She casts a dim, reproving glow upon my lack of you Her cruel and much deserved ‘I told you so’ What else is there to do but search for pieces of you among the wreckage So I lead them into my room one by one Hoping this time they’ll fill the absence But his hair is much fairer than your raven locks And her voice is softer than yours ever was And the whole time I’m comparing them to you And maybe they get me there faster And maybe they hold me closer And maybe if I gave them a chance, they would stay But I’d trade a thousand of these faceless strangers For just one more night with you © 2018 c. bee |
