We are all homeless

We are all homeless

A Poem by Anthony Garcia

After all of these months and years

It finally occurred to me

It isn’t a game, or an emotion

Nor a state of mind

Not a thing of beauty

Or a knife in the back

Not a gun in your pocket

Gum on your shoe

It isn’t a race, or a blanket

Or hot tea with honey

Not a fast track to fame or fortune

Or an epiphany, or enlightenment

No

Love is a place

and we are all homeless
