The streams

The streams

A Poem by Anthony Garcia

I went down to the stream

where my father went to dream

about love for my mother

and the lust of another

the stream divides in two

and the choice is up to you

my father took the noble path

spurned the stream and spurned God's wrath

I stand by the foot of the stream and stretch

horizon too infinite, cannot spot that meadow of wretch

I stand there as I do the math

took off my shoes, took the middle path
