Not What You Think

Not What You Think

A Poem by Anthony Garcia

Let it be

let feelings get swallowed up by apathy

what I think is, is most likely

more interpreted, over analyzed,

fictitious rather than factual, felt

more false memory, wishful thinking

than what I want it to be

im too old now to be naïve

too childish to be anything but jaded

so ill lock up my vault

and keep the butterflies in suspended animation
