Monday Surprise

Monday Surprise

A Poem by Anthony Garcia

Im creeping, im waiting

For you to forget

Hiding in canvas, trying

To let myself inconspicuously sit

Im smiling, so happy

Inside this blue folder

You’ve been idly napping

While I grew three days older

You should have remembered

But you’re young and you’re stupid

And were never too bothered

Just kept messing around and playing with cupid

So there I did sit

Until Monday rolled around

You opened your backpack

And your homework you found

if no one has commented this yet i'll try to explain why but first it was bouncy, fun to think about as well as read. with that in mind this has the feeling of an iambic pentameter but a bit out of whack. i tried to count through them a few times and made a few mental notes as I went through but my critique would be for you to open up the iambic pentameter a bit and steadfastly apply it because this poem is bouncy and it would benefiet greatly re reading it with iambic in mind.
