Little Butterfly

Little Butterfly

A Poem by Anthony Garcia

I met you as a smiling poet with a dream

you were a freshly born twenty one year old

collection of starbright and sweetness

so wide eyed, with big brown

underappreciated opals

you caught me by surprise

you're dancing in my head, little butterfly

your scent and aura like either

I am dizzy, and goofy, and totally yours

you have grown on me

the single leaf on my heart shaped tree

when around you I am warmer by four degrees

and three shades blushed

I would flip the world around

to hold your lovely hand

and pledge my soul to you

if I could go from your biggest fan

to your loving man
