there are times to wait and times to go
this path is warn it's starting to show
forgive, forget. or both or neither
alone with my thoughts, decision to teeter

a breath, a thought, a sigh, a cough
a word to the wise, don’t get yourself caught
its too late now, no reverse button
this couple now shattered here all of a sudden

too fresh to be hurting, this is merely a bruise
just rethink the next time on who you use
