Ticket to the Cosmos

Ticket to the Cosmos

A Poem by Anthony Garcia
"

Wrote this with my girlfriend in mind. Trying to get back into writing.

"
I’ve spent my life
Looking up at the stars
Imagining a slow dance
With the milky way
Thinking my love was cosmic
Close enough to the eye
Far enough in touch
To freeze my fingertips

I fell in love with space
And the eternity behind its vast reach
Thinking I’d find you there
Ive wished on every meteoroid
Pondered galaxies unexplored
In search of you
In search of me

You are terrestrial
But your glow is otherworldly
Took my hand
Glided me past the stars
Past cosmic valleys
To you
Proving what jaded brains proclaimed untrue

Meet me in outer space
Where our warmth won’t
Scorch this earth to dust

Brilliant lines. We are stunned by colors of universe. Earth is nothing but an atom.
