Death;MediaA Poem by Anthony Garciapeople die, then CELEBS die
Heath Ledger died today
Ingested a healthy dose of pretty pink pills
A little overboard, a little overdose
They must have paralyzed; a visceral nightmare
The man died on his own volition, remembered by anyone with a television
Maybe he decided the good life was too hard
The massage therapist and a housekeeper
Found his naked body, cold; already lifeless
Tamara Lane also died today
Riding on her brand new pretty pink bicycle
Wrong place, bad people, wrong time
Her only sin; growing up in urban ghettos
Poor girl died, remembered only in statistic
Never knowing that dinner plans had changed
The only thing on her menu
Was pavement; the salty taste of her own blood
Drew Sutherland drew his last breath today
Clutching tightly to his pretty pink pocket
Of his most favorite over-starched shirt
He was declined a procedure; experimental. Not necessary
A Devote catholic, remembered only by his sons
He could have been saved
If he were born on the other side of Lake Michigan
He died a red blooded American; war veteran
Frankie Gutierrez was burned to death
After engine failure from the pretty pink pistons
On the 86’Th Air Division detail, circling Iraq
Died squeezing a picture of his daughter; he never met
Remembered only on election years
He leaves behind a grieving widow
And a little girl without a daddy
On his extended tour; it was his birthday
Im sorry dear, I have to tell you
Our baby died today
And no-body
Cared
