legacies

legacies

A Poem by inkstainedsoul

a shadow of a moment
forgotten in the past
how naive of us to hope
that it could ever last
a faint fading reminder
flickering out of sight
leaving us abandoned
lost in the dead of night
the ancient iron of stardust
flows fleeting through our veins
the whispered ghosts of long gone stars
with long forgotten names
the legacy of old gods
living amongst our bones
a temple we must cherish
a place to call our home

legacy, a good words. What is left and what is remembered? Funny how some parts of history. Written off and forgotten. Some lived forever. I enjoyed the poem. Open the door to thought and possibilities. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I guess the home we all live in
merely a collection of what we value
The legacies we cherish and hold to remember
The people we see as heros of our time

Well legacies are meant to stay with us but nature vs nurture has always facinated me. I pretty much like everything about this how you start in sharp focus and pushed out beyond our boundries to include the universe.
