the words i swallowA Poem by inkstainedsoul
their bitter acid rises
like the too familiar bile as you ask me if i'm ok while fingers claw my throat. my muscles tense and quiver as my lips tremble desperate to unlock to reveal my broken soul. i force out an "i'm fine" as blood runs down my wrist an outlet for the words i'm screaming in the silence. i choke down the words that could set me free for they would certainly drag you beneath the surface of my poisonous sea © 2015 inkstainedsoulReviews
