Soldier

Soldier

A Poem by inkstainedsoul

he awakes day after day
wasting all his time away
his entire being seems to mock
the silence of a ticking clock
a simple lazy languid blink
giving time a cheeky wink
a fading grasp on his mortality
disappearing with his reality
soon he'll be lost in his despair
he's too far gone beyond repair

I liked the poem. You described a soldier life. A lot of down time. Train and train waiting for war to destroy mind and heart. I like how you use the description. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I really enjoyed your poem, i'm not sure if you have personal experience, or know someone who does but I think you captured it beautifully
