The Cicadas' Song

The Cicadas' Song

A Poem by InkSlinger

Reticense impregnates these deafened ears,

Like a cicadas' song on a warm summer breeze...

Full of life, rhyme and reason,

Abruptly, and deliberately aware..

My silence, my deafening silence

Is silent no more.

I always wanted to write about Cicadas' song, this is a very decent piece. I like it's haiku and intentional feel.

When that silence is opened up, we see and hear so many things...there is always something to grant us moved, if only we can emerge from our world..I love this, concise and poignantly powerful!

I love the deafening silence broken by the sounds of nature, like a friend attempting to pull you out of moping and remind you that there's a whole world out there to enjoy. Beautiful in it's brevity, loved it, keep em' coming

Life interjects itself and nature in particular has a way of stilling us. Beautifully written! Still and lush.

"deliberately aware" -- I like this. It speaks of purpose, of intent. Sweet!

Has the Muse returned?
