I've been standing outside your memory, looking in...

I've been standing outside your memory, looking in...

A Poem by InkSlinger

I've been standing outside your memory, looking in...

I've been looking for meaning, finding none,

Crying inside my heart, always holding back...

I've been seeking hope, without faith...

I've been holding this bagful of sorrow, without feeling,

                  Speaking of love, without articulating...

Waiting for you to come home, knowing you won't
...

Have to agree with Imagination101 the open is deep and beautiful, how often do we all seem to find ourselves on the outside looking in but for it to be from the point of veiw of memories is wonderfully philosophical. Keep em' coming

George, this was so sad, I love the opening line: I've been standing outside your memory, looking in.... A person that loved someone deeply, but now is gone, all is left is the memories and longing for them to come back but.... knowing you won't! Excellent Poem!

Very sad, I feel the yearning in this poem. The emotions cuts deep into the reader. The ending really cuts, realizing that all the longing, hope, means nothing. Excellent write as aways.
