Accede me this day's breath

Accede me this day's breath

A Poem by InkSlinger

God grant me strength

rouse vigorously

this vessel of clay

bolster this enervated soul

that I might rise

yet another day.

Give me mortal strength

accede me this day’s breath

until morning is nigh,

peaceful

I shall once more

evade death.

Settle this heavy heart

weary in worry I lay

time spilling out before me

memories rise and fall

in a dreams lucid decay.

Worry not

for this tempered soul

I’ve long surrendered my pride

humbly renounced

in glaring defeat

my ego left dead along the wayside.

I have wept a thousand silent tears

something you already know

broken,

in twisting madness

these chided hands I show.

clean before your reverence

unabashed

I shall stand aware

rid of all my sins

these clean hands laid before you,

I bare.

A heartbreaking, beautiful prayer. Remember that you don't have to stand in judgment before anyone, G...worry not about those petty souls who do not know your mind, your heart - as long as you remain true to yourself, you will shine in the eyes of those who do know you....those who love you for who you are.

I like this, sounds dark.... "I shall stand aware, rid of all my sins, these clean hands laid before you, i bare" I like that too...
