On the path..

Just past denial
somewhere on the road to heartache
you will see the path meander...
that's where you will find
sadness gathering.

Cloaked in resentment
basking in bitterness
frolicking with sorrow
that's where you will find
sadness gathering

Bathed in empty tears
tied to a bickering tongue
washed in unending depression
that's where you will find
sadness gathering

Hidden under accusing eyes
battered by prattling tongues
wrapped in love's mockery
that's where you will find
sadness gathering

Crooked fingers point the way
along the path of infidelities
draped in suspicion, and deceit
that's where you will find
sadness gathering...

Thats where you will find sadness gathering is a strong and powerful line in this poem. The last stanza is a powerful one about how sadness comes in many different forms. How do you move on from being saddened, hurt and feeling betrayed when infidelity is involved. Time...I think is the only answer. Not that the pain ever completely washes away, but it can make you stronger if you get through it with the person who caused the pain. It can make you have empathy for another who is going through what you have been through. this is a very open and heartfelt write about a topic that most of us will encounter unfortunately in our life time.

How does someone get off this path to sadness? or the many paths as it seems. I think this is an outstanding poem that has many examples of paths to sadness. People chose to stay on this road even if they know where it leads. Excellent Poetry!
