I reach out in stillness..

I reach out in stillness..

A Poem by InkSlinger

Be still your beating heart
For in sleep I am not gone
tho' words may batter, on innocent hands
deep I feel this tender bond.

I reach out for you in stillness..
yet, struggling through many a hand
they touch you in places, I can not
it leaves weaken, this broken man.

Our time together is never long
but within those moments spent
I have lived a lifetime in your love
warmed in your offerings, lent.

You many never fully understand...
I shelter my love, but for an eager few
one thing is certain, one thing is sure
my heart, forever belongs to you.

My mouth choked with your hope
on words that do not flow with ease
In dreams, we have laid down in tall grass along the babbling brook
with you, in you, I am eager to please

I chatter my offerings in short approach
but these things should take a lifetime to achieve
knowing our time draws quickly on stolen minutes
when granted your love's distant reprieve.

So be hush in your heart sullen
I am still waiting, on your forgive
a chastened heart, longing in you
your perfect love I can never outlive

Oh, my heart!..
You, Mr Inkslinger, turn my knees to jelly, raise my blood pressure, swiftly melt me into a quivering puddle with your astonishing, loving, tender, romantic, sentimental written creations...you may very well be a health hazard!!

A masterpiece. Such a powerful, emotional poem.
"I have lived a lifetime in your love..."
"My mouth choked with your hope
on words that do not flow with ease..."
Those lines are so beautifully written. A vivid imagery. Wonderful poem.

You with your unbelievable power to bring tears to my eyes. "Stolen minutes..." All we have are stolen minutes, each second that ticks by we waste if we don't spend them with the one we love. "So be hush in you heart sullen..." Oh, gosh. Almost cried just quoting you. This is a truly beautiful poem that speaks to my heart, reminding me of what was lost and what I may find again. Such an amazing writer.

My last husband passed away after we were only married a year. People have a hard time understanding why my life felt like it was over, it wasn't like I knew him my whole life....worse, they didn't understand how these words themselves cut to the bone....I never expect to find another perfect love after his, oh but I do wish to find another being to myself...someone to share intelligent, intimate, and sometimes silent information with....being comfortable in silence with another is a rare and intimate blessing...beautiful write

Somebody has been smitten not mentioning any names Ink... ahem
If you can sit still with someone, quiet for a long period of time and both feel comfortable in that stillness then you have at least reached a good friend if not a lover and hopefully a love. Your words are beautiful.
