Bitter cold

Bitter cold

A Poem by Writer

The air is a bitter cold

the chill burns at the faces of ones

who're left unprotected

one like she

 She's the daughter of

of her fathers unkept promises,

the lone wolf lost from her once

loyal pack,

off her guard she should be not

in fear of the ones who send the

burn of tasteless longing

Fake they are

Posers they are

 Dear she looks alluring in

the eyes of the tedious poser

Because the air is a bitter cold

the chill burns at the faces of ones

who're left unprotected

one like she

I think the fact that you described her as one separated from the pack made the image a lot clearer. (and sadder too) The last three line put things into perspective. Very sad.

I sense the cold of not only the wind but of betrayal. Stay on guard. There was a darkness to this that had me thinking of a dark character in a role playing venture.

You have perfectly depicted the picture of a lone and unprotected girl.
Thanks for the compassion.
