Flameless

Flameless

A Poem by silver ink

The pilot has gone out

on the love we knew

it has been cold for sometime now

 but we just pretend

to feel warmth between us

yet the tug for the covers at night

confirms the great gulf fix between us

your fragrance crosses the boarders

of our comfort zones that our sleep

numbers  justify of the distance we have set

we use to be closer and our flame was bright as

a nebula  lighting the midnight sky

passion has retired and excitement is

now the occasional tug of the covers

we will wake up to no kiss nor a smile

just to acknowledge the  contentment

of a flameless love
