Vaporessence

Vaporessence

A Poem by Ingy
"

Written as a farewell to many wonderful people in my life. Greatly inspired by the Spanish poem, "Dark Night of the Soul"

"

Curtains of dawn, slowly pulled over
the tops of ancient trees—
tops held, maybe, by
only the puppet-strings
attached
to the fingertips of old gods

I linger, awed to silence, turning now
with my face toward the leaving night.
Dawn greets me at my right, where
I catch a glimpse of Autumn
in the corners of the horizon

With a whisper,
Your name escapes my lips—
I breathe you, like honey,

and

I feel you on my skin
together with the dew.
