A fall so long and painful.

Falling feels like flying,
Until you hit the Earth,
In a bone cracking collision,
Demolishing your hopes and dreams,
With spine tingling precision.

Your old wings fell away,
Leaving you to crash and burn,
But they were weakened before the fall,
Grey and tattered, for new life they did yearn,
With trails of precious ash,
Wherever your heart strings pulled,
You were always the least fortunate,
You were always so easily fooled.

Broken beyond repair,
You fell through the ground,
So fast so silent,
Destroyed was any hope you'd ever found,
Down in the pits of hell,
Your heart bursts from your chest,
You wonder where you went wrong,
You wonder when you lost your bulletproof vest?

(8)I miss the lips that made me fly(8),
The first words from your hearts mouth,
Realisation sinks in it's almost too late,
Frantic, deranged, you have no idea what to do in this state,
All you ever wanted was someone to call your own,
And now here you are in hell in pain and all alone...

Did he ever really care?
Was he even ever there?
Why was I always such a fool?
WHY WAS IT HIS HEART THAT SHE HAD TO RULE?!
"Don't be so stupid,
You know that's not true,
He was there at times...In some ways he did love you,
It just was never how you wanted it to be,
So now...I don't think you deserve to have me,
Broken battered, that's all you ever let me know,
Even though people were around, but I think you should let me go.

So you unclip your heart from its old and rusty chain,
And see it sprout glorious wings,
"I'll help you now, oh you will learn the most wonderful things,
Just try and smile and accept what life brings."

You grab onto that chain with all your might,
Smiling as this heart ends your devastating fight.
