Tis My Birthday =]

I just thought I'd write a little poem because it's my biiiirthdaaay!!! =]

Another year older,

I truly feel a little bolder,

Merely a year has passed,

Yet I feel I've aged so fast,

So much has happened,

Both so good,

Sometimes so very bad,

The bad times lasted long,

But now I've wiped them clean from my mind,

It's not my soul they'll be allowed to bind,

They tried to pull me into the dark,

But now I stand happy in light,

Even if it does often seen quite stark.

 

People have come,

People have gone,

People have returned,

But in the end,

I always knew somethings wouldn't last long.

I am often glad of the bad times,

For it is from them I have learned,

Never take those who love you for granted,

Because it is you they could have burned,

Never hurt them, and never lie,

Lying is never 'for their own good',

It's the easy way out,

But it can break hearts and,

Shatter people from where tall they once stood.

 

This year will be the year for me,

This is the year I am set free,

Out of sixteen years,

This shall be my best,

For as long as I have that sweet heart,

I can make beautiful days out of the rest.

I've never written a poem on my birthday (OCtober 19th), but if I did I would write about how much it suck.

It's a simple testiment to your strength and resiliance in life!
It shows that all of us are able to overcome the hard ships in our lives as long as we try.
I really like the line, "Lying is never 'for their own good'," It is so true. You admit your faults and own up to your mistakes, it makes you a stronger and more noble creature on this planet!
This was a beautiful poem to end the old and begin anew!
