sadness

sadness

A Poem by indigo

The sadness was not as profound
as it was prolonged
And after some time its cause was all but forgotten
It just hung around, motionless and silent
watching as tears gathered and fell as readily
as breath does enter parted lips
Before long, it became accepted
and even so much as expected
Eventually, it seemed as if sadness was
all there ever was
