fall of the giants

fall of the giants

A Poem by indigo

we walked with giants
in the time of myth
where silence and subtlety
swept across consciousness
and swelled to proportions
of inundation

we cried and grieved
with mothers, widows and maidens
when lovers and children were lost
and we urged them on
when they set sail
to the slow and steady
beckoning of sirens

when hollow visions
of false existence
were drowned in the deluge
we followed the distant flicker of torchlight
fiercely driven by the will of our dreams
and rose above the torrent

and we were met
with passing glimpses
of the great heavy monsters
as they carried
our frailty and fear
out to the vortex of oblivion
