Storm

Storm

A Poem by Cassia Sidra
"

"Some things only can be made in the storm." -Flying Colors

"

In gray-blue sky, the thunderhead-

A dark quilt sewn with golden thread-

Blankets the earth, and covers low

The earthy things that strive below.

Its touch is close, its gaze severe;

It scourges what it holds most dear,

But that which bears, alive, the storm

Is hardened, shaped, and given form.
