love like that.

love like that.

A Poem by Indiana Adame

a love like that
it burrows down deep, deep, deep
underneath your skin, inside your bones
rends its way through tissue and muscle and blood
to rest inside your chest like another vital organ

a love like that
it burns fire-bright and warm as summer
radiating like sunlight through the pores of your skin
lighting up the darkest rooms
and setting whole cities on fire

a love like that
it sears itself onto everything you are
carves its name into flesh and bone and memory
seeping into every part of you
drowning you
burying you
saving you
