the seam

the seam

A Poem by Amrit Evan Gupta
"

the other night

"

the seam

i.

a stranger’s intrusion

an extraordinary lightness lifting

color shifts purple and blue,

skin pocks and softens and waves

the world ripping at the seam, the ink bleeding through

exposing

the softest sound

the tiniest, most saturated piece of the world

warm - clean - internal - perfect

warm - clean - internal - perfect

at the lowest level, i commit

it’s so earnest

ii.

ethereal moss spirit

(lift up with every breath)

a river’s gentle meditation

lithing delicately across the leafy floor

iii.

gasping rush of resonance - the sound

longingly clings

to the strings

like moss on an

old tree, so loving
